The King and The Commissioner

1st Half

The movie started off well where Pakistan military enters to India for a mission of destruction which is found by a senior analyst of Intelligence bureau. Nedumedi venu who is the chief in-charge who tries to pass this message to top people gets killed along with analyst . Then the search continues Why they got killed? Whats the motive behind their killing. Janardhan who act as G.K the Central Minister calls Joseph Alex  THE KING (Mammootty) to search out regarding the investigation of the case. Mammootty entry start up with hard core dialogues against the press media and Devan. The story goes on well with lots of twist and turn and at every loop hole their is a murder mystrey and destroy of evidence. Sai kumar who is acting as the Swami jee has shown the cruel face behind him showing the lust for the money. Jayan cherthala who wants to be next prime minister join hands with swami jee. Almost for an hour later  happens the grant entry of Bharath Chandran  The Commissioner (Suresh Gopi) with his power punch dialogues. Both King and Commissioner join hands together to search the loop hole of the investigation. The action sequence in the Boxing ring was quite over and unneeded in the movie. Till interval the movie had good hard hitting dialogues and had some good expectation from the movie.

2nd Half

As the first half was good the movie dragged in second half. The story was going somewhere and feels like boring. The movie was totally based on dialogues where Alex joseph gives punching reply to Jayan cherthala just like that Bharath Chandran giving hard hitting dialogues to Swami jee. The Pakistan terror was their only to kill people, its sad that they didn't have any dialogues and just make entry to shoot or kill the people. The ending was a predictable the win over the evil and justice to the nation. Last action scenes didnt have any goosebumps as we had in The King movie or The Commissioner movie. Same old dialogues repeated again in the end which we have seen before also. I expected a suspense at the end of the movie but nothing was their.

Acting wise Mammootty and Suresh gopi has done a great job but somewhere Suresh gopi have overshadowed mammootty in the movie. Sai Kumar as the Swami jee is no where to Narendra prasad. Sometimes you feel that he is doing a bit over acting. Jayan Cherthala has done a good job with his dialogues and with his get up also. Devan as usual had done a nice job. Good supporting by Janardanan, Nedumudi venu, Mohan Agashe and P. Sreekumar. Samvritha sunil is just wasted in the movie.


Direction by Shaji Kailas disappoints again. Shaji kailas and Renji Penicker have given more concentration on the dialogues rather then on the script. If the movie had a good script then surely it would have  gone to next level.
